On Wednesday, May 21st, the BC Construction Roundtable will host an afternoon roundtable discussion to support learning and dialogue between owners, consultants, general contractors and others in the construction industry on regulatory & permitting compliance challenges and lessons learned. Attendees will participate in table group discussions to provide input and inform the discussion. A facilitator and a recorder will be at each table to guide and to support the dialogue.
Table discussion themes will be documented and consolidated into a white paper to be shared with attendees and BCCR members. A debrief and networking session will follow the table discussions. The ticket price includes two drinks tickets and canapes.
Presenter
Tom Hicks, R.P. Bio, CPESC, is an Environmental Scientist and Project Director at Ecofish Research Ltd, leading the Construction Environmental Management Team. President of the Erosion and Sediment Control Association of BC, he brings over 18 years of experience in environmental monitoring, auditing, and advising on best practices. He contributed to BC’s 2024 ESC guidelines and supports national standard development, known for his practical, expert approach to complex construction compliance.
Nathan Braun is a Victoria-based Partner at ERM Consultants with over 20 years of experience in regulatory processes, impact assessment, and Indigenous engagement. He supports clients in advancing major projects across mining, energy, and infrastructure. Formerly with the BC Environmental Assessment Office, he played a key role in developing the 2018 Environmental Assessment Act.
Event facilitator
Autumn Cousins, President of Bravo Zulu Strategy Ltd., specializes in environmental, regulatory, and compliance strategy for major resource development projects. During her time as a regulator, she led environmental assessments and the development of the Compliance and Enforcement Branch at B.C.’s Environmental Assessment Office. As a consultant, she supports clients with compliance management, environmental management plans and the intricacies of the interface between regulators, owners and contractors. Autumn has worked on 20+ major projects, including Coastal GasLink, Site C, and Highland Valley Copper Mine.
