Glotman Simpson Awarded at 2009 Canadian Consulting Engineer Awards
Celebrations continued this week at Glotman Simpson with the announcement of the 2009 Canadian Consulting Engineer Awards in Ottawa. The 41st annual awards are Canada's highest mark of recognition for projects by Canadian engineering firms, presented by the Association of Canadian Engineering Companies and Canadian Consulting Engineer Magazine. From 60 submissions, the Vancouver Convention Centre Expansion project was awarded one of 10 Awards of Excellence. Only 4 of these awards were for 'Buildings', with no other B.C. project awarded in this category. Full details can be seen at www.canadianconsultingengineer.com.
This follows on from Glotman Simpson's win of The Grand CONNIE Award for Richmond Olympic Oval by BC Ready Mixed Concrete 2009 Awards for Excellence in Concrete Construction. The Oval was also presented the Special Applications, Technical Merit Award. These awards (nicknamed CONNIEs for "CONcrete CONstruction") are the BC industry's highest recognition of works that show vision and innovation in the use of concrete.
